Part A: Terms of Use (AI tools with external users)
Terms of use for SmartDreamers’ hosted and managed artificial intelligence features (the “AI Tool“) utilised on bp’s careers website.
The following sets out the terms and conditions of use of the AI Tool which is made available to individuals accessing the website. The AI Tool is provided by SmartDreamers (a company incorporated and registered in Romania, under VAT RO33068320 at Piata Trandafirilor 19 Street, Targu Mures) for use by BP INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (under company registration number 542515) with its registered office at Chertsey Road, Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex, TW16 7BP (“bp”).
Unless otherwise stated or the context otherwise requires, the term “bp” and terms such as “we”, “us” and “our” are used in these Terms for convenience to refer to one or more of the members of BP International Limited instead of identifying a particular entity or entities. BP International Limited is a separate legal entity from the wider bp Group.
By accessing and using the AI Tool you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this legal notice with respect to the AI Tool (“Terms“). These Terms may be amended at any time by bp from time to time without specific notice to you. You should review the Terms each time prior to using the AI Tool. These Terms do not form part of bp’s Recruitment Privacy and Cookies Statement. Please ensure you have also read our Privacy and Cookies Statement before using the AI Tool.
The AI Tool uses artificial intelligence. You accept that your use of the AI Tool may, in some situations, result in output that is inaccurate, incomplete or incorrect.
1. Purpose
The AI Tool is designed solely to (i) automatically extract key information from resumes, including but not limited to contact details, professional experience, and educational background, and (ii) analyse such information for the limited purpose of generating job suggestions. The AI Tool is not designed, intended, or warranted to be relied upon for making final employment, hiring, promotion, or other personnel-related decisions, nor shall it be used as a substitute for professional judgment, advice, or independent verification. For the avoidance of doubt, you must not use the AI Tool for any of the activities identified in Section 6 (Restrictions and Prohibitions of Use) of these Terms.
2. Our liability to you
Neither bp nor its affiliates will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, or data, or other losses, even if we have been advised on the possibility of such damages. The limitations in this section apply only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Other than in respect of personal information which will be treated in accordance with the bp’s Recruitment Privacy and Cookies Statement, if you provide information to us, you agree that we have unlimited rights to such information and that we may use such information in any way we choose. Such information shall be deemed to be non-confidential.
5. Ownership of the copyright of output of the AI Tool
The copyright and any other intellectual property rights in the contents of the AI Tool are owned by bp, its subsidiaries or affiliate companies (as applicable) unless otherwise stated. All rights reserved.
You are responsible for obeying all applicable copyright laws. We permit you to make copies of output generated by the AI Tool as necessary incidental acts during your viewing of such output. All other use is strictly prohibited.
You do not acquire ownership rights to, or a right to use (other than as expressly set forth above), any content, document or other materials produced by the AI Tool. The production of information or materials by the AI Tool does not constitute a waiver of any right in such information and materials. Some of the content produced by AI Tool may be the copyrighted work of bp or third parties.
6. Restrictions and prohibitions of use
Your rights to access and use the AI Tool and any information, materials or documents (collectively defined as “Content and Materials”) produced by the AI Tool are subject to the following restrictions and prohibitions on use. You must not use the AI Tool for any illegal, harmful or abusive activities, such as:

We may make changes to the features, functionality or content of the AI Tool at any time without notice. We reserve the right at our sole discretion to edit or delete any documents, information or other content produced by the AI Tool.
Feedback – if you see any output generated by the AI Tool which you believe to be in violation of any of the usage restrictions set out in these Terms, you shall immediately report such output via careers.bp.com/contact-us
8. Governing Law
Your use of the AI Tool, the output generated by it, and the operation of these Terms, shall be governed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. If you wish to bring court proceedings against us, you must do so within the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a business user, and any or any part of the terms contained in these Terms is determined by any competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable to any extent, such term shall to that extent be severed from the remaining terms which shall continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
