Enikő’s story
Enikő is a treasury trade operations senior analyst in bp Hungary – finance, business & technology. Based in Budapest, she is currently learning the role. We asked about what the role involves, how she is building confidence and what stands out for her about working at bp.
At the moment, I’m focused a lot on learning and understanding the responsibilities of the role. A typical day involves shadowing processes, understanding workflows, reviewing procedures and getting familiar with the different treasury and trade operation activities.
The main responsibilities that take up most of my time are monitoring and processing treasury and trade transactions, investigating and resolving exceptions and ensuring all controls and reporting are completed accurately and on time. What I enjoy most so far is the combination of analytical work and operational problem-solving.
Even though I'm still early in the process of learning the role, it already feels impactful because the work directly supports business continuity and operational efficiency across regions.
Before joining bp, I expected a very professional and structured corporate environment with high standards and international collaboration. What surprised me most positively since joining is how supportive and approachable people are.
From what I've experienced so far, there is a strong focus on knowledge sharing and making sure everyone feels comfortable asking questions and learning from each other.
Even though the work is complex and responsibilities are important, colleagues are very willing to answer questions and support new team members during the learning process.
What has helped me build my confidence is having a clear understanding of the process and knowing that I can rely on strong teamwork and communication when needed. For me, confidence comes from preparation and continuous learning.
The benefits that make the biggest difference for me are definitely the healthcare support through Medicare and the community-focused programmes and charity events.
I think people who are curious, adaptable and willing to learn would thrive most, especially if they are confident working with other people. The environment is fast-paced and there are many interconnected processes, so being proactive and detail-oriented is important.
My top tip for someone would be to ask questions and focus on building strong relationships. Being reliable, asking thoughtful questions and showing genuine interest in learning can make a strong impression early in your career. It is also important to take initiative whenever possible.
