Márk, an HR local delivery specialist in bp Hungary, shares how trust, teamwork and growth opportunities have shaped his career in Budapest.

What’s the culture like at bp Hungary? 

For me, the best part of the culture is how much we value connection, collaboration and being open to change. Whenever we complete a project, solve a case or find a solution together, I feel respected through the small moments – being included, listened to and trusted as part of the team.

How has bp helped you learn and grow?

My whole journey to where I am now has been an outstanding experience from the start. bp is a place where I feel complete trust from my manager. The way we organize our work is shaped not only by expectations but also by my own input. Receiving this level of trust – along with real responsibility – has been the greatest fuel for my growth.

What’s the most meaningful project you’ve been part of at bp so far?

Helping with the transition and creating knowledge articles on several topics like onboarding are the projects I’m most proud of so far. They’re where I felt I could really make an impact.

How has bp opened doors to global connections for you? Do you get to use other languages or work with colleagues from around the world?

In my day-to-day work, I use English and Dutch. In the office and in smaller projects, I sometimes use Hungarian and French as well. It’s also worth mentioning how easy it is to find a “language buddy” here – whatever language you’re interested in, there’s usually someone happy to help.

What benefits at bp make the biggest difference for you?

Among the many discretionary benefits, I enjoy the inhouse table tennis competitions, weekly football nights, teambuilding events and the flexible home office days agreed within my team. The office location is a big plus too.

What’s your top tip for someone starting out at bp Hungary? 

Take the initiative. Are you an outgoing extrovert? Build connections. Prefer documentation and quiet, focused work? Improve processes. There’s always a way to find projects you enjoy and make your strengths count.
