Zhibek is a business insights senior analyst in bp Hungary – finance, business & technology (FBT). Based in Budapest, she works with stakeholders to resolve issues and improve data quality so business teams can make decisions based on accurate information. We asked her about what her role involves, the project she’s most proud of and what stands out most to her about working here.

 
What does a typical day involve in a business insights role? 

In my role, I focus on data validation, stakeholder communication and resolving issues across systems, while continuously driving enhancements to improve efficiency and keep business processes running smoothly.

What’s one piece of work you’ve contributed to that’s had a visible impact?

The most meaningful work for me was supporting the stabilization phase of my current project, where I identified and fixed data-related issues to ensure a smooth go-live. This had a positive impact by improving data quality for decision-making and minimizing disruptions for business teams.

How do you take ownership in your role? 

I have built my confidence over time by gaining hands-on experience and developing a deeper understanding of processes. What really helps is the support around me – being able to openly communicate, ask questions and learn along the way. Knowing that I am trusted helps me feel comfortable in making decisions.

 
What surprised you after joining bp Hungary? 

 
I expected structure – but found much more: a collaborative, people-first environment where you quickly feel part of something bigger. The workspace also makes a difference, offering everything needed to stay productive while providing space to recharge during the day.

Who is likely to thrive in an FBT role at bp? 

 
Someone who is detail-oriented, proactive and eager to learn, especially if they enjoy working with data, solving problems and collaborating with different teams. If you’re just starting out at bp, my advice is to stay curious, ask questions and take initiative. Building strong relationships from the start can make a big difference in both developing confidence and improving performance.
